Clean Cut sleeving is designed for ease of installation when a hot knife is either unavailable or impractical. When cut with scissors, the specially engineered filaments will tend to cling to each other minimizing end fray during installation, while still allowing full expandability of the sleeving. This fray-resistant characteristic is accomplished without the use of chemical additives or bonding agents. This results in a cleaner product and eliminates possible chemical contamination. Because of this unique construction, Clean Cut has a very soft feel and the increased braid density provides for fuller coverage. Clean Cut is braided for maximum coverage while still allowing enough expansion for easy installation over plugs and connectors. By adjusting the physical characteristics of the polyethylene terephthalate filaments, the Techflex engineers have produced a product with the same specifications as our PET sleeving with the unique advantage of being able to cut the material with ordinary scissors and still maintain an extraordinarily fray-resistant end without the addition of chemical binders or adhesives. Flexo Clean Cut is ideal for field installers and other situations where access to a hot knife is impossible. Clean Cut's fray resistant properties allow frequent expansion of the cut end without unraveling. When cut with a hot knife, Clean Cut produces a clean, smooth, and virtually frayless end. Clean Cut PET expandable sleeving is braided from 8 mil polyethylene terephthalate (PET) monofilament yarn. The sleeving easily expands up to 150% and gently constricts around irregular shapes. It remains flexible over a wide temperature range and is resistant to chemical degradation and abrasion. Clean Cut PET is tested and approved for use under FAR 23/25, FMVSS 302, UL, and CSA material standards. Additionally, it is in compliance with RoHS, the European directive on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances.
